Local Maple Wood Bowl
This is a maple bowl made from a tree that grew right outside my house. The council cut it down because it was damaging the pavement. This size bowl is perfect for a handful of nuts or nibbles or storing jewellery. The colours running through this bowl are caused by spalting. It's when a fungus grows in the tree and the lines are where different fungi are competing. It is a beautiful process that cant be made artificially. Don't worry though This wood has been dried which kills the fungus just leaving the pretty colours.
9cm ~ 4" diameter
Like all of my bowls, this one is food-safe. it is finished with a blend of carnauba wax and natural oils making it vegan, sustainable, and food safe. When the time comes to refresh the finish, to keep it looking nice if you are using it regularly, it couldn't be easier. I use Uulki Wood Wax, it is inexpensive for a pot that will last for ages and is really easy to apply. It can also be used on your other wooden kitchen utensils so it's keeping a pot in your kitchen.
All of my products come gift wrapped in tissue paper. If you have any special requests if its a gift please put this in the order notes and I will do my best to fulfill them.
